In the first time at school, Kieu Phuong is very passive in class and often sat at an angle. She did not want to play with friends and rejected the teacher’s guidance. She just spoke in a low and unclearly voice when being asked questions. Now, Phuong can care for personal hygiene independently and read, write the letters, and learn vocabulary. She can do simple calculations with numbers up to 5 and write single words. She takes initiative with helping tidy up the room, clean the table and preparing meals.
Lúc đầu đến lớp, Kiều Phương rất thụ động, không muốn chơi chung với bạn, từ chối sự dạy dỗ của cô giáo, em chỉ nói rất nhỏ khi cô giáo hỏi. Giờ đây, Kiều Phương đã có thể viết những từ cơ bản, làm toán trong phạm vi từ 1 đến 5, học nghề làm hương, tự chăm sóc vệ sinh cho bản thân, quét lớp, dọn bàn ăn.

Trường hiện tại có khoảng 53 em chậm phát triển trí tuệ (bị down, bại não, tự kỷ,...) đang theo học và gia đình phải đóng học phí. Thường thì gia đình chỉ đóng một phần nhỏ tùy thuộc vào từng hoàn cảnh và nếu mình không hỗ trợ thì gia đình không thể có đủ điều kiện để đưa các cháu đến trường.

The school has right now 35 students who suffer from Down Syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism, .... Normally the parents have to contribute a small part to the tuition fee depending on the financial situation of the family but if they don’t receive any aid from us, they won’t be able to send their children to school.
